I also know I didn’t proofread this—oops! Lol, my bad. I’ve officially started my travels through Europe and had this idea while sitting in a café in Amsterdam. I had to type it out quickly before heading out and losing WiFi!

I love every part of this and am inspired to make one, too.

It's inspiring to me, that you included faith related points. My faith is something I've been wrestling with for a while - as a queer women churches don't necessarily feel like a safe space to be. So it's encouraging to see others embrace theirs.

I’d love to read your list if you share it publicly!

Also (if you don’t mind) I’d love to say a prayer for you!! Just that you find a church home that feels safe and/or get to a place of peace with no more wrestling!!

I know this turmoil, personally! Due to molestation, I struggled with understanding my sexuality & preferences from as early as 5 years old through college! Not saying you’re struggling — I’m just sharing because during that time period I also felt unsafe, attacked, and weary when attending church. I was trying to go to the person who seemingly had all the answers (God) but didn’t feel loved by those who were supposed to be my “sisters in Christ”. All of that to say, I’m just praying it gets better, simpler, and more loving for you! There are wonderful churches / pastoral leaders out here!

I'll tag you once I do! I already started a draft for it. We shall see what it becomes.

And thank you so much for sharing your story. It's truly helpful to hear other people's stories and the struggles they have overcome. It's encouraging me to keep looking. So I very much appreciate your vulnerability, thank you!

Yes! Please try it! I just shared in the chat that this was a great way for me to spark some creative ideas! When I started writing the list, I didn’t plan on turning any of these into essays! And now, I see that so many of them can be videos, essays, and even personal essays that pitch for publication! I had over 200 things on my original list and just took the first 40 lol

Just started it this morning and at 33 things so far! Here are a few:

15. Decluttering always makes my mind feel better after it's done.

19. Getting away from all technology and having pen and paper or just being still and thinking - my best ideas spark to life.

20. Best ideas come during mundane moments and tasks. Falling asleep (lol), showering, dishes, cleaning.

29. Marketing is a rinse & repeat process.

etc etc... this is so much fun and an inspiring process!!

Great article/read! I agree so much with 20 and 21. I am working so hard on 14!

I would love it if you could elaborate more on:

✨17 (especially in the context of how certain 9-5 jobs/professions and even those around you often silence and reprimand the voice of Black/ African-American women. Healing from that work trauma.)

✨23

✨37

Honorable mentions for elaborating more on 7, 14, 27, 32
