Unless there was a major glitch that only affected my account, my Substack blog was hacked. This came hours after sharing on Instagram that I'll be permanently deleting all of my social media accounts other than this blog. Most people supported my brave decision and wished me well, and one person, I'm guessing, did not.
Many of my subscribers were deleted (I'm now left with 1,000 subscribers from almost 18,000). Over 150 paying subscribers were in that chunk of people deleted, and now I have a significant negative balance on my Stripe account due to automated refunds.
Our community chat was deleted. My bio was temporarily changed to "Isis sucks" (lol). And, the blog name was changed to "the daily no" (clever, I guess lol). Some of my posts, including my most recent two, were also deleted.
But you know what? I've decided I just don't care. Especially after the amazing experiences I had this week!
Last month in The Daily Yes book club, we read The Creative Act, in which Twyla Tharp talks about how we have to be open to blessings (she isn't religious and doesn't use the word "blessings"). But she says that sometimes life will throw things at us, and if we have a set idea of what our future looks like, we'll be distraught by it. But, if we expect God to turn everything to good, then we should trust that the things being thrown at us will also turn to good (again, she didn't use any of this language I'm using, but that's how I took it).
And so, hacker, you're forgiven. I pray you have a wonderful life that fulfills you and that you never feel like you have to tear people down again. I mean it. Also, you will not be getting into my account again (unless you're some sort of super spy to which I say — please don't go into my account again! haha). But I've been rushing to turn on two-factor authentication and change my passwords on everything. So, you're out for good.
To my subscribers, I'm so sorry if you've been impacted in any way! I didn’t see any weird DMs or posts, so that’s good!
Please give me a day or two to get my bearings and see if there's anything else that needs to be fixed. I had a few sponsors lined up for the blog, and I'm sure this will change some things for them, so I need to handle that!
In my next post, I'll summarize the last two deleted posts (a guide on how to decide when you're stuck between tough choices and my 2025 reading guide). Then, we'll get back to regular programming!
By the way, if you came from Instagram and you can still see this, thank you for joining me here! I'm sorry this is your (unofficial) introduction. Lol, I'll do something better for you soon!
I love you all!

Omg! The devil is a liar and a hater! Obviously you’re doing something right Isis. Keep on keeping on 💕 I pray that everything the enemy attempted to steal shall be returned 10 fold! It’s only up from here!
If you expect God to turn everything for your good then, he will — a whole bar and truth. So sorry this happened, they tried to derail you but they've lost.
