Thank you for sharing so candidly about your pivots! It's made me feel much less alone or weird.
I have also pivoted many times in my life: first a public educator, then e-commerce owner, real estate agent, digital marketing/media account manager... now? With 2 kids in tow at the moment, I'm not so sure what I'm doing or where I'm headed, but definitely something a little kinder to myself and allows me space, time and capacity to be who my family needs me to be. :)
Thank you for the encouragement! I recently felt the urge to deactivate my IG and take a break for a while just to enjoy life more and be in the moment. I’m not sure when or if I will get back on but I’m looking forward to what is to come and this article was so timely. Thanks for sharing!
I love this!! I was sure I wouldn’t go back when I deactivated instagram too! Returning after a year and a half has been strange… but I’m finding does that allow me to present as if I’m online without being online so that’s nice!🫶🏾 praying for your beautiful, creative journey!
Such a beautiful post! I love your aesthetic! Recently I’ve felt the call to unplug for many reasons, so seeing you on the other side of my now beginnings is so inspiring! I love how you honor your journey! I am doing the same by unplugging, embracing a slower pace, & finding joy in both the process and the result. Thank you for sharing!
I love this! Please trust the journey and know the internet is going nowhere! Lol I can’t wait to see and support you on the other side!! And I’m learning there’s a way to do life slowly even after the return 🫶🏾
I thought I was doing good to put on eyeliner, lipstick, 💋perfume, and earrings everyday just for me, to sit in my writing room. 🤗 This is delightful and encouraging.
Love this so much! I'm moving from surviving to thriving as I write and am romanticizing my life as a creative living to the fullest. I'll be honest, it's been challenging due to some struggles, but I'm leaving those behind so I can jump right in and live from joy and creativity!
Absolutely loved this! And as a proud 33 going on 34 this year, that area is GREATLY MISSED!! Anywho, I agree with every point. And it's so easy to forget that this process of romanticizing your life as a creative is MESSY. Not drama (but not saying it won't be tho) but messy for the most part like art. As Im starting to my journey I'm recording it through my substack as well and sharing what did or didn't pull my edges as I walk through this journey with Christ. I can go on and on. I love this post truly. Thanks for writing. 🖤
Yes!!! Absolutely messy! The process of trying and failing and learning yourself and figuring out what works and what doesn’t and what makes you love life is as messy and chaotic as this extra long sentence 🤣
This is so needed! I’ve recently circled back to my creative side and I’m finding some resistance. I’m actually thinking about cutting of socials and this was the confirmation I needed.
When I found your Substack I immediately saw myself in you! The similarities are crazy haha…it’s not often that we as women learn how to be ourselves and love ourselves (authentically). I find myself outgrowing places and things so easily because I refuse to stay stunted on this life’s journey. (I use to think it was the social worker part of me) but I realize as I mature that this should be all of us. To meet our true selves, down to the core. Now that I’m 30, I am realizing how much I absolutely lovvvve womanhood. Happy to be apart of your community now 🎉🩷 xoxo Britt 🌹
I needed this reminder. Seeing this whole documentation and tips that have supported you sparked something in me. I use to get all dressed up and since working remote, I got use to being "comfy." I also crave to make more creative spaces in my house so it feels cozier and inspiring. I am currently doing my first 7 day fasting (girl and its getting to me lol) but seeing this brought the joy I needed. Thank you for being you and spreading your magic and medicine.

The hobby corner idea is gold!! I've always fantasized about a reading chair or nook for cozy knitting or reading 🙌🏾
Now that sounds superrrr cozy!🥹 got this chair off of Facebook marketplace!!
Ah that’s a great idea!! I’m also planning to ask around because people often have gems laying around too. Thank you for the inspo 🤗

My hobby corner kept me sane when I lived in a slum (I’ve written about it on my substack). Defo recommend!!!
